Table Setting

Napkin folding reminded me of table setting. My daughter uses the entertaining section of my Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook to set our table. Martha Stewart has an informative, three-page article on table setting for forgetful people like me who can never remember which side of the plate to put the silverware.

I use Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook as well! I memorized table setting when I got married, but it exasperated hubby. Finally, he told me that he prefers all his silverware on the left hand of the plate because he's left handed. I tried to explain that it didn't matter because there's silverware on both sides, but he's used to having dinner "diner" style where they just hand you all your silverware wrapped in a paper napkin.

So now, I set my place properly and set hubby's all to the left hand side. :) I suppose it's a feat in and of itself just to have the table set these days!

Don't you just love that cookbook?!:) I understand your husband's problem - I think too much dining out in my life is why I can't remember how to set a proper table.:(
