The Great Raid

As a patriotic American whose family members have served and fought in every American war since the Revolution, I always get a little giddy when I hear of a pro-American, pro-military movie. Such a movie is a rare find these days. When the movie also portrays Christianity in a good light, I am doubly pleased. Thus was my reaction to this movie review of the upcoming film, The Great Raid, starring Benjamin Bratt, Connie Nielsen, and Joseph Fiennes.
Set in the Philippines in 1945, "The Great Raid" tells the true story of the 6th Ranger Battalion, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Henry Mucci (Benjamin Bratt) who undertake a daring rescue mission against all odds. Traveling thirty miles behind enemy lines, the 6th Ranger Battalion aims to liberate over 500 American prisoners-of-war from the notorious Cabanatuan Japanese POW camp in the most audacious rescue ever.

The Great Raid opens this Friday - August 12th.
