Costumes: S as a Pirate

Give creative kids a costume book from the library, construction paper, cardboard, tin foil, tape, and scissors and you have the makings of cheap entertainment (for them and you because you will get a good laugh). Costume-making is how the kids have been spending their spare time this week. This heat wave is preventing their usual daily, extended excursions in the wilds of the backyard. (I mean - "the former wilds of the backyard" - H has now mowed the Jack-and-the-Beanstalk-sized weeds. Thanks, H!) The kids are quite proud of their new costumes. Just now two little gladiators came into the kitchen and exclaimed, "We, who are about to die, salute you!"
