Table Setting

Napkin folding reminded me of table setting. My daughter uses the entertaining section of my Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook to set our table. Martha Stewart has an informative, three-page article on table setting for forgetful people like me who can never remember which side of the plate to put the silverware.

Napkin Folding

This month's Martha Stewart Living offers instructions with pictures on folding pinwheel napkins. (I love their idea of using bandanas for BBQ napkins.) Folded napkins are a cute addition to any meal and a fun way for children to help with the meal. My own daughter enjoys setting a nice dinner table - complete with lovely napkin folds.

Blog for Books

Mind & Media is looking for bloggers to review books. It's easy: you are sent a free book, your read it, and you blog a review about it. Right now, I have a free copy of The Thinking Toolbox (courtesy of Mind & Media) and am reading it. Free = good deal! So, get over to Mind & Media and start reviewing. Don't forget to tell Stacy that Mrs. Happy Housewife sent you.

Bird Sighting

We had a visitor this morning - a Little Blue Heron. At 27 inches, this bird is not so little. He perched there for about ten minutes and flew off. The children and I were howling we were so excited. As my daughter said - it's not every day a Little Blue Heron sits on our back fence.
