Reader Question: French Women Don't Get Fat

Recently, I was asked:
By the way, did you like her yogurt recipe? Did you use a yogurt maker? How did it compare to commercial yogurts?
I didn't use a yogurt maker. I'm not sure I could justify the expense and have no space for any more appliances. I figured women have been making yogurt for hundreds (or is it thousands?) of years without yogurt makers so I gave it a try. I like her recipe; it's easy but the result is way too liquidy. I found a similar recipe online that included a teaspoon of unflavored gelatin in the milk before heating it and I will try that with my next batch. I'll post an update of how that works out.

Famous (But Wacky) Homeschoolers

You can add the Cruise and Travolta kids to your list of famous homeschoolers. Although, since they are Scientologists, I'm not so sure we homeschoolers should claim them. We are after all trying to show society how normal and well-adjusted we homeschoolers are. :)

The kids, Isabella, 12, and Connor, 10,...are home-schooled, not sent to either a parochial school or a non-denominational private academy like most children of celebrities. Indeed, Isabella and Connor Cruise, like John Travolta and Kelly Preston's kids Jett and Ella, are home-schooled with an emphasis on the works of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard. The Cruise children are tutored by Tom's sisters Cass and Marian, who have teaching degrees. The former lives in Cruise's Beverly Hills estate; the latter lives nearby.

You can read the rest of the article, which focuses on the on-going Tom Cruise insanity debacle and has nothing more to do with homeschooling, here.
